Things to Do

Albuquerque is a wonderful place with many things to do--you just need to know where to find them! I've listed a number of fun stuff on our site. I've focused on the free, city-supported, and non-profit organizations. If you would like to see a longer list, go to the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau site at: http://www.visitalbuquerque.org/

Biopark

Tha Albuquerque Biopark includes Aquarium, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, and Tingley Beach. Throughout the year there are a variety of fun and educational events at the biopark venues. These events include speakers, exhibits, brown-bag luncheons, sleepovers, camps, tours, and much more!

You can purchase an annual pass that gives you free access to the biopark. It will also give you a discounted price to most events hosted at the park.

For more information about the biopark, visit the cultural services section of the City of Albuquerque's website at: http://cabq.gov/culturalservices/biopark/

Parks, Trails, Open Spaces, and Recreation Centers

Albuquerque has almost 300 parks, over 113 miles of trails, and a variety of recreation centers. The beautiful mountain range that backs our homes is one of the many open spaces!

You can take a variety of classes at the parks and recreation centers including: swimming, arts & crafts, martial arts, and golfing. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even go rock climbing, skateboarding skiing or snowboarding!

Libraries and Museums

Our closest library, Lomas Tramway, is one of 17 libraries in the Albuquerque/Bernaillio County (ABC) Library system! This number does not include the college and university libraries! Our libraries host many fun activities every week including teen activities, Read to the Dogs, art classes, book clubs, homework assistance, and lots more. For more information about our libraries, visit the ABC Library web site at: http://abclibrary.org/home

Albuquerque is home to at least 20 museums! We have art museums, science and technology museums, transportation museums, and even museums that focus on the diverse populations that make up our city. To find out more about our museums, visit our site's Museums page

Theater, Sports, and the Rest of the Fun Stuff

On any given day, there are many events in our beautiful city! They range from art exhibits, to plays, dance, and sporting events! Some are big Broadway plays, others are award winning musicians! Even our local eateries host bands!

If you want to take advantage of the many wonderful events, check out one of the local entertainment calendars. Here are a few to choose from:
